Waiting for Spring

The crocuses are blooming and the worms are all over the sidewalks.  I can barely walk down the street with Quilly the corgi because she’s GOT to stop and scrape the worm jerky off the sidewalk.  Ew.

The red-winged blackbirds are calling and flashing their red shoulders at my birdfeeder, hoping to attract girlfriends.  The robins have started fighting with their reflections in the windows.  There are wild swans in the man-made pond at my local soccer field, and in the oh-dark-hundred of the mornings, the girls and I are being serenaded by killdeer and coyotes.

All the animals seem to know that spring is on its way.  Even this naughty kitty.
